Crystal Q Events is a premier event planning company serving the DC metropolitan area and beyond.

With a focus on weddings and non-profit events, Crystal Q Events specializes in creating and designing the perfect event to meet and exceed the client’s needs and expectations every time. Crystal Q Events will take care of all of the planning, coordinating, and orchestrating of the event from start to finish as well as all of the design aspects of the event. Through consistent care and professionalism, Crystal Q Events will ensure a worry- and hassle-free event at a reasonable price. Hi! I'm Crystal. I work full-time as a corporate meeting and event planner, I plan about 30 events a year and travel at least once month. Somehow I still find time to fit in other events. Events are my life (literally) and I believe life is just made up of a bunch of events whether big or small. I would be honored to help you plan your special event!

Diamond Package

The diamond package is the complete wedding package for brides who want assistance from start to finish planning their wedding. This package allows the couple to have the wedding of their dreams without the stress that too often accompanies the planning stages. The diamond package includes turning the bride's vision into a reality by taking care of all of the vendor contracts, running the rehearsal, and providing day of coordination.

Pearl Package

The pearl package is the partial wedding package for the brides who have already secured a venue, contacted some vendors, but now have become overwhelmed and need someone to finalize everything and pay attention to all the details. With the pearl package we join you at any point before the wedding, become acquainted with the vendors, and relieve the stress of the bride.

Ruby Package

The ruby package is the “day of coordination” for the couple who wants to plan everything themselves, but want to be able to enjoy their day knowing everything will happen exactly as they dream.

Destination Wedding Package

The destination wedding package provides week of coordination for your destination wedding as well as assistance planning details prior to the destination trip. Crystal Q Events also offers hourly services and a la carte services in the areas of: engagement parties, dinner parties, bar and bat mitzvahs, bridal showers, holiday parties, baby showers, and anniversary parties.


Crystal Q Events knows the importance of details. We offer full event design and decor which includes centerpiece design, vases, linens, and more.

    Crystal did an amazing job coordinating my wedding. She took the time to listen to our vision and made it happen. She was very organized leading up to the wedding and brought up issues/ideas that my husband and I never even thought about. She was always available to talk on the phone and returned emails right away. I literally didn't have to worry about anything on my wedding day, she had everything under control. Crystal also provided linens for rent so I did not have to use an outside vendor, which was one less thing to worry about. She was very professional and on top of things and all of our guests commented on how well put together the wedding was. I highly recommend her for any event!

    Crystal was amazing. As the groom, I didn't think I had much need for a wedding planner, but a few weeks before the wedding I realized I had no idea where to look to find the best rates on limousines, much less plan the rest of transportation and accommodations for the honeymoon. Within an hour of contacting her, she found me a great deal on the limousine. What I was most impressed by is that she didn't just give me ideas, she found the best option so I didn't have to spend any more time searching. She also helped me find accommodations in several cities and even personally visited some of the hotels. Thanks Crystal for removing the stress so I could enjoy those last few weeks!

Since it was a destination wedding, most of the planning was done ahead of time through emails. how travel is an event >> a planner's perspective

So, I am known to my friends and family as a world traveler, jet setter, you name it. One of my friends is convinced that I won the lottery and pretend to have a job, but really just travel. Gosh, I wish that were true! I do love to travel and although I do travel quite a bit, I would love to travel even more. 
I am going to tell you why travel to me is like an event. It mostly lies in the fact that planning goes into both travel and events and there are many similarities between the two.
Recently, one of my friend's told me that she has never utilized a calendar once in her life. I was shocked! The planner in me was going crazy. Like really, who doesn't use a calendar. Please tell me she's the only one. 
But, I guess it's because I'm a planner. It's what I do for a living, it's my life. I plan everything. I think I am still spontaneous and adventurous at times. It's not like everything little thing is planned out, but the major things yes. And in my planner mind, travel is kind of a major thing like an event and it requires planning.
Prior to travelling and taking a trip to a destination, you have to think about when and where you want to go. How you are going to get there. Where you are going to sleep. What and where you are going to eat. What you are going to do. What you are going to pack. Thought and planning goes into all of it to some extent.
You know those people out there who have dropped everything, quit their jobs and now travel the world and blog about it. Yeah well it's always interesting to read about and sometimes I wish I could be one of those people, but I'm not. I don't think I could ever do that (well maybe on day...)
But the reality is I'm sure some amount of planning goes in to their travels. Yes, they may not know exactly which city or cities they are going to or where they are going to stay, but they do have to plan things out. It just may be done more in the moment instead of ahead of time. But, a lot of them plan a good portion of their travel. 
Since I view travel and taking trips just like I do other events I will be sharing some of my travels with you. I'm hoping for some warmer weather as I go to Jacksonville, FL on Sunday for my first trip of 2015!

Maryland wedding venues

So, you're getting married. Congrats! First things first, you need to find a wedding venue. Of course, many venues get booked way far out and unless you have a certain date in mind, it is best to be flexible based on what the desired venue has available. The following is brief look at some of the top Maryland wedding venues (in no particular order). Hopefully, this will help you narrow down which venues to target. [Note: this is a focus on venues in Montgomery and Frederick county] Enjoy :)

Mike + Lindsay: an intimate affair

On a sunny October day, Mike and Lindsay wed at the Lodge at Little Seneca Creek surrounded by their closest friends and family. Lindsay planned everything out, designed and hand-crafted many of the decorations to have the wedding of her dreams. The ceremony took place outdoors, with a cocktail hour on the deck, and a cozy reception in the log cabin complete with a stone fire place, candles, and beautiful little details. The night ended with dancing, corn hole, beer pong, and flip cup; it was quite the party!

trend alert: 2015 colors

Hi everyone! And welcome to the year 2015 :) I'm sorry it has been ages since I last posted, but I'm back and ready to fully commit to Crystal Q Events in 2015, so get ready! With the start of the new year comes a lot of new things, one of which is the 2015 color report. Here is the line up for the 2015 Spring Colors. 

The theme is En Plein Air  and this season, cooler and softer color choices with subtle warm tones follow a minimalistic en plein air theme, taking a cue from nature.

And, the color of the year is...

Probably not my favorite of the 2015, but it's still very pretty, soft and elegant. And I do love pomegranates (yummy). My favorites would probably be the lucite green and glacier gray. Regardless, here are some ways to use Marsala, the color of the year for weddings and events.

whimsical bohemian photoshoot

Sorry for the horrible delay in posting! Below you will find some awesome pictures from a gorgeous photoshoot that I had the privilege of being a part of. I loved working with Liz from Fogarty Photography and Jackie from Primrose & Co. They are both incredible at what they do and I would highly recommend them. You may also notice some tassel garlands in the pics :)

 I think my favorite part of the shoot is the pallet table with the blankets and pillows. I just love the way it turned out!
